FinchMe, Philippines’ first exclusive website on finches, got its share of the limelight with a link(yes, a link!) from the BEST Filipino blogger, no other than Mr. Abe “Yuga” Olandres.   See his article on us =) and his stint with the TV show Mel and Joey last Sunday, August 19, 2007.  

Yuga’s Article


FinchMe was conceived in a 2nd floor restaurant in Katipunan one July evening.  The following weeks, Yuga gave me the assistance I needed in order to start the website. I had a sudden interest with finches (which most of you should know by now if you have been reading FinchMe’s articles), and I fed on this interest until my ideas about it got a little out of proportion.  Then, I was only thinking about how I would be able to earn something from it. Now, I own two finches, and things have changed.  My family loved the zebra finches I brought home.  I am happy I made them happy. (I tell you, if you’re looking for meaning right now in this phase of your life, you got to have a pair of zebra finches.)  More so, managing the site proved to be quite some fun, and not the burden other website owners profess it to be.  Lastly, the only thing that hasn’t changed is this: I’m sticking with my original plan of helping Filipino breeders promote their birds online through this website.

For those who wasn’t able to watch Mel and Joey, I found a copy of the video on youtube(btw, I don’t know if this is legal hehe).
